Star Trades Help Manual

Create An Alliance
To create a new alliance, click on Trade Alliances on the left navigation menu. This will take you to a page displaying all of the alliances currently in operation. Underneath this table is a form for you to fill out to register your new alliance with the Star Traders Association and create the password that other traders will need to know to join your alliance.

Once you've done this and clicked Create Alliance, your alliance is ready to go with you as the Alliance Leader and first member. You can recruit other companies to join your alliance, and give them the password so they can join. If you are willing to take anyone as a member, just publish your password in the Alliance Leader's Statement for your alliance.

To manage the day-to-day operation of your alliance, click Alliance Center on the left navigation menu, and then click Alliance Control Center. From here, you can change your alliance's password, remove members from the alliance, change your Alliance Leader's Statement displayed on the Trade Alliances page, and even delete the alliance.

Join An Alliance
If you prefer to join a pre-existing alliance, click on Trade Alliances on the left navigation menu, and pick which alliance you'd like to join. Some alliances are open, meaning anyone may join. If an alliance is open, the Alliance Leader will have the password displayed in the Alliance Leader's Statement. To join an open alliance, simply return to the Trade Alliances screen, type the alliance name and password into the Join an Alliance form, and click Join Alliance.

To join a non-open alliance, decide which alliance you'd like to join from the Trade Alliance's page, and find the name of the alliance's Alliance Leader displayed next to the Alliance Leader's Statement. Next, click on Send Message on the left navigation menu, and select the Alliance Leader's name from the drop-down menu. Finally, write a message, politely asking to join the alliance and explaining why you will be an asset to them. If all goes well, the Alliance Leader will send you the password to join your new alliance.

You can only be a member of one alliance at a time. Joining an alliance will automatically remove you from any other one that you may be a member of.

Your Alliance
Now that you're in an alliance, you can start enjoying the benefits of your group. Clicking on Alliance Forum on the left navigation menu now takes you to an alliance-only forum, where you can trade hints, strategies, and more with your alliance mates.

Clicking on Alliance Chat on the left navigation menu will take you into a chatroom available only to members of your alliance. You can coordinate attacks on rival companies or alliances, corner the commodity market, exchange information on lucrative opportunities, or ask for help when you are being harassed by a rival.

Clicking on Alliance Center will take you to the alliance armada center, where you can contribute to your alliance's defense of members. If you are the Armada Commander, you can also enter your Armada Control Center from here.

Leave An Alliance
If you've decided that solo is the best way to go, or you've found a better alliance you prefer to join, you can leave your alliance at any time. From the Trade Alliances page, simply click on Leave Your Current Alliance. You'll immediately be removed from membership in that alliance. Joining a new alliance will automatically remove you from membership in your current one.

After you leave an alliance, you can re-join an alliance you've previously left (if they still want you), join a brand new one, or simply go it alone.
