Buying and Selling Ships

To buy a new ship, click on Cargo Ship Orders or Pirate Ship Orders, depending on which type of ship you want to purchase, and select which Spaceport you want the ship delivered to.

Cargo Ships cost 500,000 credits, whereas Pirate Ships cost 400,000 credits. Naturally, Pirate Ships cost less than Cargo Ships because there is no need to register them with the STA.

Once you've purchased a ship, it can immediately be put into service.

Used ships can be sold back to a Spaceport. The price you receive will depend on the equipment and training the ship has, and the damage it has sustained.

Cargo Ships and Pirate Ships

Cargo ships are the main source of income for Kentaran Galaxy corporations. They are used to transport various commodities between depots. While many companies have an impressive number of cargo ships in service, you don't need a large fleet to be successful, merely to use it more efficiently than your competitors. The STA has placed a limit of 60 total ships on each company.

Pirate ships are different than Cargo Ships. Built for plundering, they are used chiefly to ransack other companies' cargo ships and steal their cargo. However, your decision to make use of pirate ships has an impact on your Legal Standing, a key component of the game.

You can only own one pirate ship for each 3 cargo ships you own.
