Star Trades Help Manual

Fuel
Fuel is required for ships to move between Star Systems. Your ships must be equipped with Fuel Grids and then the Fuel Grids must be filled with fuel cells.

Each Engine on a ship requires one fuel cell to run for one hour. Each Fuel Grid holds 25 fuel cells.

Fuel for your ship in the form of fuel cells can be purchased at any Depot, Spaceport, or TechCenter. The STA has fixed the price of fuel at 300 credits per fuel cell.

Running out of fuel between locations will strand your ship, unable to move. If this happens, you will have to call a refueling tanker to bring additional fuel cells to the stranded ship. Naturally this will cost extra, usually 3 times the usual price of the fuel. The refueling tanker will provide the stranded ship just enough fuel cells to get it to its assigned destination. If you do not have enough credits available to pay the refueling tanker fee, your ship will remain stranded until you do.

Automatic purchase of fuel cells can be done at stops on your trade routes. If a ship on a trade route runs out of fuel, it will be removed from the trade route and remain stranded until it has sufficient fuel to continue and is reinstated on the trade route.
